Air Plants rotary valves, designed by our expert engineers and manufactured in the heart of the UK. The rotary valves are designed to discharge wood shavings, paper dust and similar low-density materials from cyclones or bag filters. Air Plants rotary valves can be built to our standard design or to suit the requirements of an individual application.
The rotary valve is driven by and directly coupled to an electric geared motor. The rotor on the rotary valve is suspended on the shaft of the geared motor and connected to a flanged bearing at the opposite end.
The body of the rotary valve is constructed from heavy gauge mild steel and fitted with a six-blade rotor, coupled to an electric gear motor. The blades of the rotary valve are designed using high-grade styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR).
The geared motor drives the shaft to move slowly, creating a continuous flow of materials through the rotary valve and out of the system via ducts. Then, the materials are discharged into a waste container or recycled straight into a heater system.
Rotary valves can provide an explosion and flame containment barrier and Air Plants Dust Extraction Ltd rotary valves comply with Essential Health and Safety Requirements. This relates to the design and construction of equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, given in Annex II to the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC of 23rd March 1994.
